The Gross Hair!
So this is gross... I found a hair on the wrapper of my sandwich I ordered at work the other day. Me being VERY picky with food, I usually would toss the whole thing and call and complain to the restaurant till their ears bled, but I was hungry... The whole time I was paranoid, checking each bite for more HAIR! :S
The Christmas Bunny?
The picture above was taken on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24). Looks like someone's got their holidays confused... :P

Download Your Facebook Account?
Was just on facebook's settings page trying to deactivate all stupid game requests and came across this... Download Your Information. You can find it under the Account button in the top right corner, then Account Settings.
Supposedly it compiles EVERYTHING you've ever posted, uploaded or published on facebook along with your friends list and messages in to a zip file. I haven't done it yet and don't think I want to re-download the gigs I've probably uploaded over the past 5 years.

Diesel Ass Kickin' Shoes
Awesome twist on shoe marketing by Diesel. Most of them are ugly as hell, but hey if they're just gonna end up in someone's bum, who cares right? :P
.WWF - A green file format
Was just browsing the web and came across a new file format developed by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) that's essentially a PDF that can't be printed called a WWF document. It's part of their initiative to save trees and distribute files digitally so they won't have to be printed.
While I like the idea, I highly doubt this will fly. First, it's only compatible with Mac computers (who uses those anyway? :P) second, there will definitely be ways one can print the file. With all the haxors in this world, it's undoubtable.
UPDATE: They now have the software for PCs. Happy tree saving!

Giant Smurfs Invade Kuwait!
Right on schedule for Eid... I wonder if the Kuwait National Guard (that's what they're in front of on the Gulf Road btw) realize that the Smurfs haven't been the "in thing" for the past 2 decades.

Taco Bell Kuwait... Awesomeness!
Taco Bell is finally here!! I went on Saturday night (2 days after their official opening) and let me tell you, it was incredibly good! I've heard so many things about Taco Bell in Dubai not being as good as the U.S and less items on the menu, but the one here was spot on. The prices are extremely reasonable.
I had ordered a Chicken Quesedilla, Grilled Stuffed Burrito, Soft Taco, Crunchy Taco, Nachos, Cheese Fries and 2 drinks all for KD 3 (I wasn't ordering alone). You might be thinking, cheese fries from a Taco Bell? Yeah well apparently that's something they added for the Middle East. They did get rid of one essential thing for the ME though... and that's Mountain Dew! :(

I've been hating November so far... way too much pressure from work, but this time of year is absolutely incredible when it comes to weather! Cheers to global warming!

Axe cleans your balls!
Was just watching John Stewart's Rally to Restore Sanity... they had it streamed live on the Comedy Central site and it was sponsored by Axe. Just found out about Axe's Detailer campaign... hilarious stuff! Can't wait till advertising in our part of the world can get this suggestive :P

Mmm... Greasy!
Went to Johnny Rockets for breakfast on Friday, thinking hey it's got good burgers and it's an American diner so their American breakfast should be good. They had omelets, pancakes, any kind of eggs, sausage etc. Sounds pretty good too. The thing was dripping with grease! I ordered the eggs "My Way" scrambled with cheese and mushroom, side bacon and toast. Don't get me wrong it tasted pretty good, but it was HEAVY.
I have a theory that Rockets Marina is the dirtiest one... Avenues branch is pretty decent. Johnny Rockets serves breakfast till 12 noon in case you're interested, but it's not recommended lol

Bliss House comes to Kuwait...
In the form of a burger from Hardee's! Hardee's recently introduced their Grande Fajita sandwich which comes in 3 forms, Original, Spicy and Mushroom. The mushroom one is FANTASTIC! It's got the same ingredients as Bliss House's Spicy Chicken Mushroom (except for the spicy part). Hardee's has THE best fast food burgers in Kuwait!

FATBURGER - Take 2!
Went to FATBURGER again to see if they got their full menu yet... it turns out that everything arrived except for the kids meals and salads! So perfect time to try out their Turkey Burger!
I was kind of disappointed... their beef burgers are superb, turkey burgers aren't all that! SO I thought, why don't I give their hot dog a shot... below average as well. Funny thing is I asked them to cut it in half... instead they literally sliced the hot dog in half! :P
The Turkey Burger meal costs KD 3.150 and the Jumbo Hot Dog pictured above costs KD 1.450.

FATBURGER Kuwait
So FATBURGER opened up a few days ago here in Kuwait and me being a food junkie, I just had to go and try it out. The burger was fantastic! The beef was excellent, great flavor, nice and juicy too.
I ordered the Double Fatburger with cheese and skinny fries and a Coke (pictured above). All burgers come with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, relish, mustard and mayo. Yes, it tasted great but it's quite pricey. My meal cost KD 4.400 (around $15!) Not everything on their menu is currently available. They don't have their turkey/chicken/veggie burgers, salads, chili, or hot dogs. As the guy said, they're all "on the plane" :P
I'll definitely be going again but I'll wait until their whole menu is available. They're open at Spoons complex in Mahboula.

Red Bull Flugtag
So Red Bull has this event called Flugtag. I had never heard of it before I was signed up for it without me knowing lol. It's a competition where a team have to build a flying contraption and have it launched off a platform over a body of water. The event will take place this November at Marina Crescent.
I was drafted as the pilot of the plane. Yes, they were gonna strap me into a flying gizmo and shoot me off a platform that's about 8 meters high. Hey I was up for the challenge but Red Bull rejected our application because they supposedly didn't like our flying machine design. I'm sure they banned us because of our group name... we called ourselves "What the Flug?" :P
They were nice enough to send over the Red Bull girls to drop this off as a consolation gift... The Red Bull girls alone would have been enough ;)

An Apple dating site?
Just stumbled on an article about one of the stupidest dating site concepts ever lol
It's a site where Apple fans meet other Apple fans and express their iLove for each other :P It's only accessible from an Apple device too.
Apple is trying to breed a bunch of fanboys and fangirls... This is all part of Steve Jobs' plan to rule the world if you ask me. PATHETIC!

I recently answered a poll that was targeted to me specifically... They knew I can't stand the iPhone and that I have an N97 Mini! How about that? :D
I don't think I want Argentina to win anymore...
I just read that Diego Maradona said he'll strip naked and run around Buenos Aires if Argentina wins the World Cup... I found this out from Pepsi, who promised to strip their bottles naked (no label) for a week if Argentina win as well! Nice way to build buzz! :P

Driving in Kuwait...
Kuwait needs an entire driving safety campaign that will run indefinitely. Unlike a lot of the drivers out there, I don't leave my house with the intention to die. People really need a strong awareness campaign like Lebanon's kunhadi.org, but instead of focusing on drunk driving it would deal with STUPID driving!
In the meantime... Stay safe, Stay connected! :D

Hard Rock Cafe Kuwait
Hard Rock Cafe Kuwait is possibly one of the coolest looking restaurants in Kuwait with that glass pyramid of theirs, but it's VERY rare to find the place packed! I used to go to Hard Rock back in Beirut because they had live bands, open wings and beer, karaoke nights, soccer games etc. The atmosphere of the restaurant was just awesome!
Went to HRC over the weekend to discover that they also have theme nights and specials too! Happy hour is from 5pm-7pm on all drinks and Mondays are open wings and beer nights for KD 5! They sure don't advertise this!

OnAir Service on Wataniya Airways
Awesome service from Wataniya Airways. I was very impressed when I used it on my flight to Jordan last month. Why haven't other airlines started this?
What's weird is I found a press release dating to 2008 saying that Jazeera Airways was launching this service back then and I've yet to see it on any of their flights. What's even weirder is that OnAir lists a whole bunch of Middle East carriers with this service and not one of them is advertising it properly, except for Wataniya Airways.

Chipstix Kuwait
Was at 360 Mall today and passed by Geant to check out if they have any good electronics deals... instead I stumbled upon that piece of fried deliciousness :P Apparently Chipstix is a chain of snack food stands originating in the UK. It's a twisty fried potato and you can choose which flavoring you'd like added to it. I chose Sour Cream & Chives. It was really good and will now be one of my main stops at 360.
Chipstix is at the bottom of the escalators leading to Geant at 360 Mall.

Weekend in Amman!
I went to Jordan last weekend. I met up with a group of my very good friends from university who live in Amman and a very dear friend of mine who flew in from Lebanon. Amman reminded me a lot of Beirut. Maybe because it was the same gathering of friends I was used to at uni. Everything in Jordan is so tranquil and they have great scenery, unlike the highways upon highways I'm used to in the Gulf region. It was a nice change.
Went to the Dead Sea which was incredible. It's the lowest point on earth so they say. This is proof of how low we were, GPS doesn't lie :P
This definitely wasn't my last visit to Jordan.

Comedy Central Middle East?
Was going through March's ArabAd magazine and noticed an ad for Comedy Central partnering up with Abu Dhabi's twofour54. The plan is to develop Arabic comedy programming for the region. How cool is that? Unless it ends up being Egyptian dubbed South Park and The Daily Show, then yeah, we got another case of Al Shamshoon.

Do NOT Retire Ronald McDonald!
I recently stumbled upon a site called Retire Ronald. The same guys that got Joe Camel to pack up his cancer sticks and retire are now targeting Ronald McDonald. While I'm glad Joe was locked away in advertising archives, I really don't think Ronald deserves the same kind of banishment.
Ronald is a marketing ICON. While he may serve the marketing interests of the biggest fast feeder in the world, he is also an excellent CSR representative. I don't think I've ever seen Ronald chomping down on a burger... It's the parents who need to be schooled on how to get their kids to eat healthy. What kid decides his own meals anyway? SAVE RONALD!

Dubai Lynx 2010!
This was the first time I ever go to Dubai and all I can say is WOW! I've heard all sorts of stuff about it being overly crowded and fake etc. but no, I really liked it!
I went for the Dubai Lynx awards. The Dubai Lynx is an annual award show for advertising in the Middle East. It was a 4 day event of seminars and workshops (which were excellent) along with the the award show on the 17th. We picked up a bronze for one of our TV commercials, the only win by an agency in Kuwait this year. JWT MENA also picked up the win for Network of the year!
Apparently there were a couple of pictures snapped of me which I didn't know of, check them out at the read link.

Kuwait Speed Cameras for ovi Maps!
I just read Mark's post on 2:48am about being able to find the speed cameras in Kuwait with his Garmin GPS device. He also posted a link to the file with the camera POIs (Points of Interest) which I was able to convert it to a file for Nokia's ovi Maps! You just download the file and send it to your phone, it will list the cameras, then choose Options > Save > All and ta-da, you've got your very own camera radar on your Nokia phone! Get it here!
You see all those stars up there? 137 of those are speed cameras in Kuwait :P

Windows Live Messenger for Touch Screen Nokia Phones (S60v5)
I had to hard reset my phone a couple of weeks ago after it wouldn't turn on. I have all my contacts backed up on my PC so that was fine, I just had to redownload my apps. When I went to the ovi store to redownload Windows Live Messenger, I noticed that it wasn't available for S60v5 anymore. So I've been searching everywhere for it. I finally found a working version.
Installation takes a good 5+ minutes... but you have to first copy it on to your memory card under the "Installs" folder then run the installation from Settings>Application mgr.>Installation Files otherwise it will install to like 99% then you'll get a frustrating "Installation cancelled" message.
Fully working 100% on the N97 mini.

Legalized chaos!
I've been stuck at home for the past two days... unwilling to leave the security of my home's walls for the ruthless foam jungle out there. You can call me a coward if you like but I learned my lesson exactly a year ago... I actually had to work on National Day, so the morning drive was fine but on my way home is where it all took place!
It usually takes me 12 minutes to get home from work. I pass through a side road off the Sheraton roundabout which I usually cross in under 2 minutes. I got caught in the middle of an all out foam war for a good hour! That's not the bad part... at the end of the jam, two cars were parked horizontally on the road. In my frustration as I was avoiding them to get the EFF outta there, I got my car scratched! I had just gotten my car a month earlier, so I was sooo bummed out! To make matters even worse, a couple of meters away were three cops leaning on their cop cars watching all this unfold! I was thinking to myself ARREST/SHOOT SOMEBODY DAMMIT!
Happy National and Liberation day Kuwait!

Canon VIXIA/LEGRIA HF20
Got myself an HD camcorder from the US. My older camcorder is a Sony and records to Digital 8 tapes... I thought it would be good to upgrade to a flash-based model and since we're in the high-def era might as well spend the extra bucks and get an HD camera. This thing is AWESOME! Video records in full 1920x1080 and is crystal clear... as with all Canon's, the colors a brilliant. Definitely a good buy!
